Mr. Gregory developed and applied his
positive thinking ideas throughout his 40 year association
with the Department of Defense. During that time he rose
from a buck sergeant computer repairman in the Air Force to the civilian
equivalent of a Lt. Col while developing, testing, and producing
combat support equipment for the Army.

I enjoyed reading your book and think it was very well
written and it has a lot of very good information. It is a
good source to help people with positive thinking and it is
great to have so much information in one place.

Dear Future
Positive Thinker,
Ever wonder why you feel like
you're missing something in life, why you never seem to get
ahead? I did and it bothered me. I knew something was wrong
but I couldn't put my finger on it. I only knew I was stuck,
failing to advance, reluctant to speak my mind, and forever finding
excuses to avoid social contact.
Finally, it got to me. I'd
had it. I was fed up watching other people move past me and
up the ladder.
It took some research, some
soul searching, and a fair amount of time but I figured it
out. I came to the conclusion that I was conditioned to
fail. In today's language, my
self-image was infected the same way a virus infects a
computer.
Somehow, somewhere, I had been programmed to think poorly of
myself. The references I found referred to it as
negative thinking.

his awareness of himself.”

The question was, when and how was I
programmed? I know it didn't happen after I grew up and
joined the Air Force, so it must have been while I was
growing up. And, it was done without me being any the wiser.
That and the research I'd done
was all the information I needed to turn myself
around.
It also opened my eyes to a
problem I'll bet you haven't thought of, something
that literally forced me to do what I didn't want to
do and that stopped me from doing I wanted to do.
That
negativity not only messed with me, it
messed with everybody around me!
And that, to put
it mildly, put me at a terrible disadvantage. I was
struggling with myself, competing with people who
aren't burdened as I was, and lumped in with
everyone who was. How's that for a triple whammy?

It was a sure fire
way to get shut out because the people I approached had
seen and heard stories like mine many times before. They saw me
coming, recognized the signs, and tuned me out before I
could
open my mouth. It was part of their
programming.
The brutal fact was that the situation couldn't change until
I did something about it. The same is true for you.
All you need is an
absolute determination to develop or strengthen your belief in
yourself, an equal commitment to your success, the right
information, and some
encouragement.
Can it really be
that simple to become a positive thinker?
Well, yes and no.
Yes, because it's
not rocket science. If you can read the guide, you can do it.
And no, because you
won't become a positive thinker with the snap of a
finger. Your negative thinking style has been around
a long time and is deeply set. It'll take time and
effort to root it out.
Consider
it a joint operation. You provide the time and effort and
Positive Thinking and You (2nd ed) will
provide the information, encouragement, and tools - including
exercises and detailed planning assistance. So don't
delay. You know what'll happen if you do. Nothing. You'll remain
where you are, stuck with the drawbacks of negative thinking
and resigned to your limited future.
On the other hand, taking the time and making the
effort to become a positive thinker can reward you in more ways
than you can imagine.
